The so-called 'Curse of Cameron' has seen a number of Britain's sporting stars fall upon hard times shortly after receiving some gentle prime ministerial encouragement.
He tweeted Robson from Kazakhstan, instantly condemning her to lose against Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi in the fourth round.
But who else has fallen foul of the 'Curse of Cameron'?
England Rugby Team
Cameron was jinxing the nations's sporting heroes even before becoming PM. He backed the England rugby team during the 2007 World Cup and they promptly lost to South Africa.
Hamilton was in a great position to take the F1 drivers championship in 2007, needing to finish fifth or higher. Then Cameron ominously told him: "I’ve got confidence in you." He came seventh.

The pair were hotly tipped for a medal at the 2012 Olympics. Cameron intervenes, they get nothing.
Poor Andy has been on the receiving end of the 'Curse of Cameron' twice, once in the Australian Open finals again in the Wimbledon finals last year. Cameron has yet to say anything during this year's Wimbledon. Let's hope it stays that way.
