Bomb Disposal Squad Called Into Dublin's Ballinteer Community School

Bomb Disposal Unit Sent Into Dublin School Over Unstable Chemical

The army was called into a Dublin school after a highly explosive and unstable chemical was found lurking in the science laboratory.

Pupils at Ballinteer Community School were evacuated and the bomb disposal unit left to remove the chemical and take it to a place where it could be made safe with a controlled explosion.

The Defence Forces tweeted a picture as they made the unstable chemical 'Brady's Re-Agent' or 2,4-Dinitrophenylhydrazine safe again.

The school was declared safe again at 4.30 pm, the Irish Examiner reported.
