An Indian court has convicted four men over the gang rape of a medical student on a bus in New Delhi last December.
The brutal attack, which saw the 23-year-old student die two weeks later, grabbed headlines around the world and sparked protests across the country.
Akshay Kumar Singh, Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta and Mukesh Singh were found guilty on Tuesday of raping and assaulting the woman with an iron bar, before dumping her body by the road.
The victim had been travelling home with a friend after watching a movie.
The attack saw new laws introduced to give women greater protection and fast-track courts set up to try men accused of sexual crimes.
The men, who have all pleaded not guilty, could face the death penalty.
Ram Singh, a fifth defendant, was found hanged in his cell, but his lawyer suggested he had been murdered.
The sixth defendant, a juvenile, has already been found guilty of murder and rape, and was sentenced to three years in a correction facility.
