A 12-year-old girl, who died from cancer last month, left a secret note to her family before on the back of her mirror before her death.
Athena Orchard's "heartbreaking" message was found by her father, Dean, a few days after his daughter passed away on 28 May.
"She never mentioned it, but it’s the kind of thing she’d do," he told the Leicester Mercury. "I started reading it but before long I had to stop because it was too much, it was heartbreaking."
Athena's family and her mirror
Athena was diagnosed with osteosarcoma last year. According to Macmillan Cancer Support, osteosarcoma usually develops in growing bones. It can occur at any age, but it is most commonly found in teenagers and young adults, and is slightly more common in males.
