Ukip's failure to snatch Newark from the The Tories in yesterday's by-election meant there was not really a "were you up for Newark" moment.

However the as the result was announced in the early hours of Friday morning it meant poor politicians Diane James, John Ashworth and Matthew Hancock had to think of interesting things to talk about with Andrew Neil on the BBC for over three hours.

And their mostly amicable chat did produce one moment of tension that was without doubt the best bit of TV of the night, including the result. Which leads us to ask: "Were you up for Matthew Hancock's epic 3am eye roll at Diane James?"
