Seven Myths About The Brain You Thought Were True (But Aren't)

The brain is a magical organ. But it turns out that the average Joe (or Josephine) knows pretty much nothing about it. Or, at least, much of what we thought we knew is a myth.

According to ASAP Science, there are seven myths about the brain that need debunking - and pronto.

Take for instance the idea, popularised by sci-fi movies, that humans use just 10% of their brain. This is nonsense.

Modern brain scanning technology shows that humans use all sections of the brain, all of the time. Admittedly some areas will be active at different times but there is no part of the brain that simply doesn't do anything.

Another myth is that certain personality types use certain sides of their brain more than the other - logical and analytical use the left-hand side, while creative and intuitive types use the right - but this is also incorrect.
