Supermarket giant Aldi has issued a product recall after salmonella was found in a batch of chocolate.
The product in question is 200g packs of Choceur Treasures with a best before date of 1 September 2015.
Salmonella was detected in one batch of the product, which has been on sale in Aldi stores in the Midlands region only.
Customers are being warned not to eat the product – described as whole hazelnuts wrapped in waffle and milk chocolate – and return it to the nearest store.
Symptoms of salmonella include diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain and these usually appear within 72 hours after eating a contaminated food product. For most people, the symptoms wear off between four to seven days.
The Food Standards Agency has also warned people not to eat the product.
