This 1946 Yearbook Is So Sexist, We Don't Know Whether To Laugh Or Cry

These Yearbook Pictures From 1946 Are Unbelievably Sexist

In 2015 most people are at last starting to cotton on to the fact that women should not be valued for her appearance.

But in 1946 it seems scrutinising a woman's assets and ignoring her academic achievements was fair game.

Pictures from an old school year book have been uploaded to Imgur and Reddit - their content is so ridiculously sexist, we don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Verna Cox is described as a "pretty little girl" and Rebecca Nelson is said to have a "nice figure".

On the other end of the spectrum Katherine Chavis is called "chubby" and Catherine Cobb is referred to as "plump".

Audrey Roach is passively slut shamed: "Pretty as a picture with a warn Southern accent. Lots of boyfriends."

While Ruby James should be glad she made it to graduation. After all, she's just a dumb blonde: "A pretty blonde with her head in the clouds."

Thank goodness times have changed. (Sort of.)
