The Best Foundation For Dark Skin Tones, According To Mindy Kaling

Mindy Kaling's Favourite Foundation For Dark Skin

The best foundation for dark skin tones is a much debated topic, but Mindy Kaling reckons she's found the one.

The actress shared this behind-the-scenes snap from her dressing table while filming her comedy series The Mindy Project, and she couldn't help but wax lyrical about her new beauty find.

Kaling's makeup artist Cindy Williams used French beauty brand black|Up Cosmetics' Cream to Powder Foundation on the star.

With a range of 16 different shades and a non-ashy finish, the foundation has been hailed as one of the best bases for dark skin tones.

The matte cream-to-powder formula is said to leave skin velvety soft and is completely buildable, from a light powdery veil to complete coverage.

It's also oil, paraben and fragrance-free (good news for those with sensitive or spot-prone skin).

Along with her flawless skin, Kaling is known for rocking statement lips on the red carpet and revealed in an interview with Refinery 29 that she loves experimenting with her looks:

"I worship makeup," she said. "The basics are always: Stila shadows, LeClerc powder for my crazy shiny skin, Bobbie brown liner pot, Chanel mascara, and Koh Gen Do for foundation, Nars for colors and sparkles."

Founded in 1999 by an African makeup artist, black|Up Cosmetics was one of the first upscale beauty brands dedicated to dark skin tones.

The foundation is available to buy in the UK in selected Debenhams stores and online at debenhams.com
