That said, many of us aren't entirely clued up when it comes to our monthly cycles.
For example, did you know that the average period can release anywhere between one cup down to a few tablespoons of blood?
Yep, that's right. It's not actually that much blood, but it just seems like a ghastly amount because your body is also shedding tissue and mucus when Aunt Flo hits.
It is estimated that 70% of women in the western world choose tampons as their main sanitary product, with others choosing pads or moon cups.
Meanwhile clumsiness is a real-life symptom of PMS. Who knew?
