Stuntman Nicholas Daines Performs Europe's Fastest Zip Line For Orangutan Charity

Stuntman Clocks 119mph On World's Fastest Zipline

British stuntman Nicholas Daines has reached a record-breaking speed of 119mph on a zipline.

The big-hearted daredevil, more used to the high-adrenaline stunts he performs on Hollywood films, was raising money for the Orangutan Appeal UK.

Daines has appeared in a multitude of top movies, including Steven Spielberg’s Munich, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and the Bond epic Die Another Day.

The stuntman took on the worlds fastest zip wire

The presenter took a trip to Borneo to see first hand the plight that the Orangutans face. He spoke to the Huffington Post UK and said:

"It was a real rush reaching speeds of over 100mph at up to 500ft above the ground. I'm used to adrenaline fuelled activities but I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was a wonderful way to raise funds for Orangutan Appeal UK and celebrate International Orangutan Day (19th August)."

Documenting his journey, he wrote: "I was given an extremely warm welcome by the head vet of the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, Dr. Laura – who took me in to the heart of the nursery to witness the busy morning routine in preparing the little baby Orangutans for the day."

He also thanked those on social media for donating to his zipline appeal:

The actor has raised over £1,100 so far in donations on his JustGiving page.
