‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Anton Du Beke has announced the exciting news that he is to become a father for the first time.
Even more excitingly, he’s also confirmed that his long-term girlfriend, Hannah Summers, is pregnant, after the two successfully used IVF.
He broke the news on his Twitter page on Saturday night (5 November), in a post which nodded to his dancing roots.
Accompanying a photo with a message about “hearing the tippety-tap of dancing feet”, he wrote: “Hannah and I are delighted to announce that we are expecting twins in the spring. We are over the moon!”
Anton is one of the longest-serving ‘Strictly’ professionals, having been with the show since its very first series in 2004.
Last year, after more than a decade, he finally made it to the final for the first time, after being partnered with broadcaster Katie Derham.
Anton bowed out of the current series of ‘Strictly’ two weeks ago, after the judges voted to save model Daisy Lowe over ‘Birds Of A Feather’ actress Lesley Joseph, with whom he was partnered.
He and Hannah have been together for around five years.
But Anton isn’t the only ‘Strictly’ pro to announce this week that he was extending his family, with reigning champion Aliona Kavanagh (née Vilani) revealing that she was pregnant with her first child on Thursday (3 November).
She wrote on social media: “Just want to share our amazing news. [Husband, Vincent Kavanagh] and I are pregnant and we are sooo excited to have our little miracle.”
