Neil Midgley

Freelance journalist and commentator

Neil Midgley is a freelance journalist and commentator, who writes about media for the Daily Telegraph and other publications. Previously he was on staff at the Telegraph for seven years, during which he both edited the TV pages and, subsequently, covered the media beat as a full-time reporter in the newsroom. Neil has interviewed anyone who’s anyone in broadcasting, from Helen Mirren and Victoria Wood to Mark Thompson and David Abraham. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Edinburgh TV Festival, and chairs the judging panel for the Freesat Awards. Aged 44, Neil is an enthusiastic but awful amateur figure skater, and lives in the East End with his cat, Starbuck.
