South Carolina Train Crash - At Least Two Dead, 50 Injured, Reports Say

At least two people have died and more than 50 injured after an Amtrak train collided with a freight locomotive in the US state of South Carolina.

The accident occurred at 2.55am near Cayce, SC, around 63 miles north-west of Augusta, officials said.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department tweeted to confirm the two fatalities.

It added that all passengers are now off the Amtrak train involved.

Amtrak tweeted: “Individuals with questions regarding passengers on train 91 can contact us at 1.800.523.9101.”
