It feels like we're expected to be crying into a pillow, stinking of Chardonnay, cat pee and desperation. (for the record I prefer Gin & smell expensive, darling). The biggest thing I've learned is that being single aged 36 is actually rather exciting, unpredictable and utterly refreshing! The sense of freedom is incredible.
My life is currently brimming with happiness and opportunity - and for once, I'm not frightened that it's going to be snatched away by the actions of someone else. I have been reckless and stupid, but I have also been assertive and embracing of everything that has come my way. The post-relationship cycle is complete, and I am happier than I've ever been.
There are all warning signs that you need to STOP and FOCUS on your marriage. It will not fix itself. You need to take time out if you want to avoid things getting worse. If you leave them too long then you will head towards what I call the "switch flicking moment". This is the point of no return when something just changes and you no longer feel that attraction to your partner.
