All over the UK, there have been a series of festivals hotly anticipated by the food-loving community in the know. Those uninitiated (and there are many) only hear hushed whispers of this Michelin-starred chef's new dish or that new wine tasting. I've taken a risk breaking the foodie code of silence to tell you about this festival... Well, not really but it does feel that way!
There's a big wedding anniversary on the horizon and I'm in charge of festivities. The wife wants to celebrate the big 10 by doing "something unusual". I can only hope we're on the same wavelength, as I've spent the last few weeks knocking about on the internet looking for wetsuits and picturesque pools in to which we shall be submerged.
Every August I spend a week or so in Oxfordshire visiting my in-laws, who live in a sweet little village six miles outside of Oxford. While we are there, we take long walks in the countryside, have lunch by the river and barbeques in the evening, spending time with our five year old nephew who we don't see enough of.
