Catwalk Review: Ashish A/W 2011/12

INSPIRATION: Down and out in the punk era.

Sequin embellished tartan prints in yellows, greens and pinks, striped shirts worn under disheveled knitwear and spider webs drawn onto models' knees.

WHO WAS THERE: Paloma Faith, Amber Rose, Marina Diamandis.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: The use of smooth, sparkling tartan next to rough, torn up textures was a fun, unique way of portraying a British-inspired look. The use of multi-coloured layers, ruffled jackets and loose fitting shorts gave a subtle nod to Vivienne Westwood's tousled designs, but Ashish still managed to put its own stamp on eccentricity.
