Ed Miliband has spoken out over the phone hacking scandal, calling again for an independent judge-led inquiry.
He told journalists on Tuesday claims that the medical records of Gordon Brown's son were broken into were "disgusting".
"I think it's terrible what happened to Gordon. I think it's disgusting. I think it just adds to the long list of outrages that we've seen practised by certain newspapers. It reinforces the need for action."
David Cameron also expressed outrage over the allegations, saying: "[This is] an appalling invasion of privacy. My heart goes out to Sarah and Gordon. I know... this is unacceptable and heartbreaking for the family concerned.
"We are going to set up a judge-led independent inquiry, so we find out what was going wrong at these newspapers. I'm absolutely determined we will not rest until we get to the bottom of these problems.

The Labour leader also said parties should work together to help deliver "justice" for Milly Dowler's family, after his meeting with them this morning.
The family, whose murdered daughter's phone was allegedly hacked into by News of the World journalists, told the Labour leader they wanted a comprehensive judge-led inquiry to get all the facts about the phone hacking scandal as soon as possible.
Miliband said he feels it is his responsibility to work across parties to ensure this happens.
"I was incredibly moved by meeting them and I felt terrible sympathy because not just of what happened to Milly but because of the terrible ordeal they'd gone through as a result of phone hacking, a result of relationships between the police and the press, and what the Dowler family were saying to me is there needs to be a comprehensive inquiry, a comprehensive judge-led inquiry getting at all the facts on all the issues and I think it's my responsibility David Cameron's and Nick Clegg's to work together now to do justice for them".
