Having made a bid for freedom, a peacock that escaped from the Central Park Zoo in New York perched on a window ledge of a Fifth Avenue apartment block several floors up from the street.
The popularity of the peacock has been boosted by two Twitter feeds dedicated to it, which have been set up since he escacped on Tuesday. @CentralPeacock and @BirdOnTheTown have respectively attracted hundreds of followers.
