PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Russell Brand has been offered the male lead in religious comedy Lamb Of God.
The film is the directorial debut from Juno writer Diablo Cody and follows a young, conservative, religious woman who loses her faith after a plane crash, decides to go to Las Vegas to live the life of a sinner, and ends up finding her way back to her faith.
Russell has been asked to co-star in the movie, according to Twitchfilm.com, and is expected to play a hedonist she meets in Sin City.
The female lead has not yet been cast but Dancing With The Stars' Julianne Hough, who appeared in the Footloose remake, is hotly tipped for the role.
Oscar-winning script writer Cody recently teamed up again with Juno director Jason Reitman for the drama Young Adult starring Charlize Theron, due out at the end of the year.
