Rose Byrne And Bradley Cooper To Star In The Place Beyond The Pines

Bridesmaid Rose Among The Pines With Bradley Cooper

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Rose Byrne has been cast as Bradley Cooper's wife in new movie The Place Beyond The Pines.

The suspense crime drama, from Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance, will star Bradley as a police officer turned politician who gets into a showdown with a motorbike-riding bank robber, played by Ryan Gosling.

Bridesmaids star Byrne has stepped into the role of the politician's wife, which was originally tipped to go to Arthur star Greta Gerwig, New York magazine's Vulture reports.

The film has already begun shooting in Schenectady in the US and Gosling, who notched up many award nominations playing a troubled young husband in Cianfrance's Blue Valentine, has dyed his hair blond for the role.

The film is being produced by those who worked with Gosling and Cianfrance on Blue Valentine.

Gerwig is among the ensemble cast of Woody Allen's new film The Bop Decameron, currently shooting on location in Rome.

She dropped out of Noah Baumbach's While We're Young in December for scheduling reasons and is expected to appear at the Venice Film Festival later this month to promote Whit Stillman's Damsels In Distress, his first movie in 13 years.
