Man In Court Over Murder Of Three Friends In Birmingham Riots

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a group of friends who were struck by a car as they protected their community from looters.

Haroon Jahan, 21, and brothers Shazad Ali, 30, and Abdul Musavir, 31, were hit by a car in the early hours of last Wednesday during rioting in Birmingham. They were all pronounced dead in hospital.

Adam King, 23, of no fixed abode, appeared in front of a district judge at Birmingham Magistrates' Court for a brief hearing.

He was remanded into custody to appear at the city's crown court later, alongside co-defendants Joshua Donald, 26, and a 17-year-old male who cannot be named for legal reasons.

All three are charged with three counts of murder.
