Oscar-winning director Sofia Coppola married her rock star boyfriend Thomas Mars in Italy this weekend.
The couple opted for beautiful elegance tying the knot in an historic palazzo renovated by Sofia's famous father, Francis Ford Coppola, in the centre of a town called Bernalda, where her great-grandfather hailed from.

The director of Lost In Translation looked stunning in a chiffon lilac dress as she emerged after the ceremony.
Sofia and Thomas, lead singer of the French band Phoenix, have two daughters together and live in Paris.

It is the second marriage for Sofia, who divorced fellow filmmaker Spike Jonze in 2003.
Famous faces at the Italian wedding included, of course, Francis Ford Coppola, his good friend George Lucas, and Sofia's cousins, actors Nicholas Cage and Jason Schwartzman.
