Selena Gomez is about to add another glittering string to her teenage dream bow, with the announcement that she is set to host the 2011 MTV EMA Awards.
The Texan starlet has had quite a year already, releasing her third album, developing her clothing line and working for UNICEF. And, just in case she wasn't well-known enough, she's also broken a million tweenies' hearts, by capturing the affections of one Justin Bieber and frolicking with him across the globe to the delight of the paps who follow their every move.
Nominees for the high-profile event, watched by a worldwide audience of 22 million last year, include Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Adele, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Coldplay.
Last year saw hostess Eva Longoria impress the crowds with her catalogue of costume changes. According to MTV, Gomez will have her work cut out this year competing with that, as she's going to be busy hosting, tweeting and commenting on their website throughout the ceremony. But we already know she's nothing if not a multi-tasker.
The 2011 MTV EMA Awards will be broadcast live at 9pm on 6th November from Belfast's Odyssey Arena.
