PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Coronation Street's Kate Ford has hinted that even pregnancy has no effect on 'toxic' Tracy Barlow.
Scheming mother-of-one Tracy is back in Weatherfield following the news that she is expecting Steve McDonald's twins, but even the prospect of impending motherhood would not turn her into a nicer person, according to the actress who plays her.
"I wouldn't want to lose that. Tracy is not a sensible or nice person, so it wouldn't make any sense to change her," she told The People.
"She's brash, she speaks her mind, she always wants her own way and she doesn't care who she hurts in the process."
Ford, who admitted that Corrie viewers may sometimes see another side to Tracy, added: "She'll still have her moments of pure vileness. She's the same person - you wouldn't want to cross her."
When she realises she is expecting twins, Tracy gets cold feet about the pregnancy - and viewers are unsure as to what her next move could be.
"Tracy is mortified when she first finds out she is expecting twins as she really does not know how she is going to cope, even with Steve's support," said the 34-year-old.
"He has his businesses to run and is not going to be around 24 hours a day," she added.
