German fashion designer and microbiologist Anke Domaske has developed a uniquely unusual source of fashion: clothing produced from milk extract.
Her new range of clothing entitled Qmilch is drawn from the milk protein Casein which is taken from dried milk powder, heated up and then spun into clothing fibre which is used to produce Domaske's high-profile clothes.
Domaske points to how the production process does not require the use of any chemicals explaining "you can wash them normally. There's no special treatment needed".
The clothing does not have a sell-by date and Domaske also claims that her clothes offer health benefits by helping to increase blood circulation. Domaske's use of this unique source stems from her interest in both fashion and microbiology. By producing these clothes Domaske has managed to not only combine her twin loves, but has also provided an opportunity to create an entirely new line of clothing with the Qmilch label.
