Court Couture: Lindsay Lohan's Innocent-Pale Dress And Halloween Makeup

Much as we have spent the last week or so looking at pictures of Christina Aguilera and saying "Oh, Christina," we have spent even longer - years, in fact - "Oh, Lindsay"-ing over pictures of Lindsay Lohan. Yesterday's hearing as part of the fallout from a drunk-driving conviction in 2007 and a jewellery theft conviction earlier this year was no exception.

Her courtroom style always garners more "Oh, Lindsay"-ing than usual, mostly because we feel the need to analyse it. After all, she always seems to be hitting us around the head with a sartorial message - a literal fashion statement.

Sometimes it's as simple as using something from the 'I'm innocent' white end of the spectrum but yesterday it ended up a bit more complicated. That or we're reading far too much into it and are even more invested in Li-Lo's courtroom appearance than she is.

Anyway, back to the more-complicated-than-white-dress.

Lindsay actually turned up in court this time wearing the same pale blue Fendi dress and gold Zanotti shoes we spotted her wearing in Paris earlier this month. Perhaps it was an attempt to remind the judge and live-stream observers of a happier time where she looked the most put-together we've seen her in a long while.

But the look is not a complete re-run and without her confident demeanour and with the addition of some heavy-handed-to-the-point-of-looking-badly-bruised blusher it fails to work the same magic. In addition to the styling, there was also the small matter of Judge Sautner asking her to explain the fact she had been kicked off a women's shelter assignment after nine missed appointments, took six months to complete a shoplifting class and the improbability of seeing her psychological counsellor in person on a weekly basis given her weeks-long trip to Europe.

The (perhaps inevitable) outcome was that Judge Sautner revoked Lindsay's probation and set bail at US$100,000 stating that the probation had been a "gift" and that "there's something called looking a gift horse in the mouth".

Before being handcuffed and led away Lindsay was ordered to serve 16 hours community service at the county morgue before her next court date on 2 November.
