Men Are Three Times More Likely To Say 'I Love You' Before Women

Men Fall In Love Quicker Than Women

Contrary to the popular belief that women are the more romantic sex, men are far more likely to be the first to say "I love you" according to new research.

The study, by Pennsylvania State University found that not only are men three times more likely to utter those immortal words first, they are also more inclined to fall in love within a few weeks compared to women for whom it takes several months.

"It shows that, contrary to popular opinion, women are more cautious than men about romance," says psychologist Marissa Harrison from the study.

However, where there is love, there has to be lust.

According to researchers, sexual desire is the driving force behind men falling in love quicker, as most men want sex after a few weeks, while most women prefer to wait.

"It can be argued that men falling in love and exclaiming his love first may be a by-product of them equating love with sexual desire," added professor Harrison.
