Mind Bending Evolution Of Western Dance Music Over Last 100 Years

If you think you know your reggae from your dub, trip hop from speed garage, acid house from US garage and breakbeat from happy house - then think again.

A new mind blowing history of the last one hundred years of dance music has been produced and it will challenge even the most knowledgeable of DJs.

It's so complicated that it will make you want to move away from the dance floor and into the chill out room.

Starting in 1800 it shows how traditional music from Africa, Indian and the Caribbean evolved to take over the world.

By the 1970s the interactive graphic, produced by Thompson.co.uk explodes into life with arrows flying all over the globe as cultures take musical influence from everywhere.

Creators say it was developed with Bass Culture, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, The All Music Guide to Electronica, and Wikipedia.

Do you agree with this evolution of house? Or has your own brand of bedroom speed techno dub been missed off?
