X FACTOR RESULTS: Who Has Lucky Amelia Kicked To The Kerb? (PICTURES)

Amelia Lily's return to X Factor last night added an extra twist to what has already been a dramatic week for the beleaguered talent contest.

The ousted contestant stole the show on Saturday with her performance of Queen's The Show Must Go On, and was rewarded with an easy pass into next week's competition.

Sunday night saw the exit of Kitty Brucknell, despite her impassioned version of Over The Rainbow in the sing-off with Misha B.

Misha B, singing Who You Are by Jessie J, was once again in the sing-off, despite having unarguably the strongest vocals in the competition.

Louis voted to keep his own act Kitty, while Kelly protected her own act Misha B. Tulisa opted for Misha B, leaving Gary Barlow with the deciding vote. After praising the quality of the sing-off, he opted to keep Misha B in the competition.

Over at the judges' desk, Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland appeared to be caught mid-tiff with their chairs even facing in separate directions like schoolchildren, and Gary even saying pointedly he was "enjoying Louis' company".

Gary had an easy week, with both his boys getting a favourable reception. Craig Colton went safely through, despite his muted version of Gaga's Paparazzi after a sore throat impeded rehearsal. Mini-Bruno Mars Marcus Collins also got a quick nod for next week after singing Queen's Another One Bites The Dust.

As well as Amelia Lily and Misha B, Kelly Rowland kept hold of her shy Irish songstress. Janet Devlin will be singing next week, despite Gary saying he nearly fell asleep during her rendition of Queen's Somebody To Love.

Judge Tulisa can also breathe for another week, with her remaining band, Little Mix, safely through.

Meanwhile, guest performers One Direction didn't win the competition last year, but you'd never guess it from the reception when they appeared on stage to sing their latest single. Their tour is also a sell-out, and Matt Cardle must be wondering exactly what happened.

Multi-Grammy Award winner Lady Gaga also appeared in her inimitable fashion, taking to the stage for Marry the Night, with her head apparently being carried in her own ghostly arms. Something for Misha B or perhaps Janet Devlin to consider for the next round...
