JUNGLE: Sinitta Leaves Campmates Hungry

Squeamish Sinitta has left her jungle campmates hungry after struggling to win meals as she failed to battle her fear of bugs in an I'm A Celebrity high wire challenge.

The Eighties singer won just four meals in the latest bushtucker trial - barely a third of the meals they needed.

Sinitta only managed to take her mind off the creepy-crawlies in the "cable car-tastrophe" by singing "Happy Birthday" to herself as she filmed the ITV1 show.

The former chart star had to clamber over a cable car suspended over a valley, collecting stars from boxes full of nasties. However she suffered a panic attack before even starting the challenge, and within moments of starting, she was screaming after encountering a box of cockroaches which she refused to tackle.

Presenters Ant and Dec then suggested she tried a box of critters above her head, she again refused telling them: "No, they will all come out."

As time slipped by, she admitted she was "freaking out" but eventually secured four stars - each representing a meal - as she braved meal worms and green ants by singing.

Sinitta was then left dangling by her harness when she ran out of time and the floor of the cable car collapsed beneath her. The relieved singer cried: "Oh God, I am all right."

Afterwards, she said she feared her fellow contestants on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! may have gone without food. She said: "There was a point in there I thought this is not going to happen at all."

Dec said that during the "cable car-tastrophe" trial the So Macho singer "could have taken her mind off the situation by singing her greatest hits". Ant quipped: "But what would she do with the other seven minutes?"

She was ruled out of Saturday's trial on medical grounds, but Ant reassured viewers that she would be "back in the running" the day after.
