'X Factor' Results: Craig Colton Leaves The Contest After Dramatic Deadlock Decision

X FACTOR RESULTS: Who Failed To Survive This Series' First Deadlock?

Craig Colton was sent home from the X Factor tonight, after he failed to make it through this series' first deadlock decision.

Gary's boy was placed in the bottom two alongside Amelia Lily, and although he received two votes from the judges the public votes were not on his side.

Craig sang a sad rendition of Will You Love Me Tomorrow in his sing-off against Amelia, and appeared prepared to be sent home after his lacklustre performance last night.

Amelia, however, was determined not to leave the competition after only just returning to the show, she belted out Lady Gaga's You And I with plenty of fighting spirit.

As his act accepted his fate, judge Gary Barlow said: "Anything you ever need from me all you have to do is ask." Craig remarked that despite being axed he'd done himself proud and was "made up".

Tonight Gary chose Amelia Lily to go, claiming she shouted her way through her song, and Kelly chose to send home Craig.

Tulisa said she was "torn" but chose to send Amelia home, meaning Louis was left with the final decision. He said he thought the sing off was "incredible" but chose to send home Craig. This took the decision to deadlock, where the public votes were relied upon.

The deadlock decision means Kelly Rowland still has all three of her girls - Misha B, Janet Devlin and Amelia Lily - in the competition.

Gary is now left with Marcus Collins to pin all his hopes on, and Tulisa jumped in the air as her remaining act Little Mix got through to the next round.

Also on tonight's results show, showing this year's X Factor hopefuls how it's done, last year's runner-up contestant Rebecca Ferguson made her comeback to the X Factor stage with a classy, moving and soulful performance of her new single Nothing's Real But Love.

Rihanna, whose hit We Found Love is currently number one in the singles chart, also returned to the X Factor, but with a toned down performance compared to last year's slated sexed-up appearance - there wasn't a midriff in sight. She instead opted for a collared tartan dress - a nod to us Brits?
