Mum Names Son Ethan Clark After Giving Birth In Clarks' Shoe Shop

PA

A mum-to-be got more than she bargained for when she went shoe shopping close to her due date - she came home with a baby rather than a pair of boots after giving birth in a branch of Clarks!

Michelle Collins went into labour at a Clarks factory outlet, in Street, Somerset and delivered her son in the staff room.

Michelle has named her new arrival Ethan Clark after the famous shoe shop.

"I didn't get any of my shopping but I did leave with a baby. I'm so grateful to all the staff who helped me and helped to look after my daughter Jodie while I was otherwise engaged," explains Michelle.

"Staff there were brilliant and kept Jodie occupied by chatting with her – they even found her some pens and paper so she could do some drawings."

Paramedics arrived at the Clarks' outlet just in time to help Michelle deliver 8lb, 15oz Ethan, who is doing really well at home.

"He's a lovely baby and we're doing really well," says the proud new mum. "We're so grateful to everyone in Street for their help in making sure Ethan got here."

Congratulations Michelle and welcome Ethan Clark!

We've been awash with unusual birth stories on Parentdish recently.

First we met the mum who gave birth at a bus stop, followed by the granny who went into labour on the street (and didn't know she was pregnant!), and the mum-to-be who took - and passed - her driving test while having contractions!
