Scrubs Star To Fulfil West End 'Dream'

Zach Braff is set to fulfil his West End "dream" as he makes his UK stage debut in All New People.

The Scrubs star will take the lead in the angst-fuelled comedy, which he wrote, as it heads over to British shores with performances at Manchester's Opera House and King's Theatre in Glasgow before its 10-week run at the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End.

"It's always been a dream of mine to do a play in the UK. I've always wanted to live in a foreign country. I never imagined I'd be lucky enough to have it be a play I'd written... I am so honoured," he said.

Directed by award-winner Peter Dubois, All New People, which had a sold-out run at the Second Stage Theatre in New York, follows Charlie (Zach), a guy who hits rock bottom on his 35th birthday and wants to be alone at his wealthy friends' luxury Long Beach Island apartment.

His escape is interrupted by a parade of misfits who turn his trip upside down, including a hired beauty, a fireman and an eccentric British estate agent.

Justin Bartha previously played the role of Charlie in the US production of the play.

The British production will open at the Opera House in Manchester on February 8 2012.
