Angelina Jolie put on a brave face for the premiere of her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey in New York.
The actress, who also wrote the script for the film, set in war-torn Bosnia, was supported by her partner Brad Pitt, as well as his parents Bill and Jane Pitt.
Jolie has talked of her nerves over the project, which she explained she wrote while she was sick with flu, telling Vanity Fair magazine earlier this year, that this is the most exposed she has felt in her career.
However, she may be tested further as Croatian journalist James J Braddock has lodged legal papers claiming that the film is based on an idea he wrote and published in an article four years ago.
According to RadarOnline, Braddock's lawsuit claims that he came up with the ideas of a Muslim girl being raped by soldiers in a camp, as those now on screen in Jolie's story.
The Hollywood A-listers are also locked in a legal battle with a former secretary at their French chateau, who is claiming unfair dismissal, according to the Daily Mail.
At least, Jolie can put rumours of discord with her in-laws to rest. Pitt's parents have always been previously reported as keeping a soft spot for their former daughter-in-law Jennifer Aniston, but the pair were beaming and openly affectionate to Jolie on the red carpet of her film.
