X FACTOR: Little Mix Through As Amelia Lily Bows Out

X FACTOR FINAL: Who Had The Right Mix?

Little Mix remain on course to make history, having made it to the X Factor final after rock chick Amelia Lilly was booted off the show.

Mix will now face Marcus Collins in tomorrow's climax, competing for this year's title and all the goodies that come with it.

Teenage Lily put in two fantastic performances, singing Christina Aguilera's Ain't No Other Man, followed by a duet with mentor Kelly Rowland, singing Ike & Tina Turner's River Deep - Mountain High. However, she still polled the fewest public votes.

After the result was announced, Lily said: "Can I just say thank you to everyone who voted me back into the X Factor?"

Kelly told the audience that "she's an absolute star".

Little Mix went into tonight's X Factor final as the favourites to win this year's show - although bookies were describing the result as too close to call.

Little Mix, who sang with their mentor Tulisa in tonight's emotional contest, will make history tomorrow night if they triumph, becoming the first girl band in the show's history to do so.

The odds on Marcus Collins were slashed with news that he would be singing with his mentor Gary Barlow, a far more successful in his own right than either Kelly Rowland or Tulisa.

Louis Walsh, without an act left in the competition, was left flicking his pen in time to the music - a shame as it would have been interesting to have his dulcet Irish tones added to the mix.

All three finalists have already recorded the Winner's Song - widely believed to be Damien Rice's Cannonball - which will be released as a download as the gong strikes the end of the show tomorrow evening.

HMV bosses faced accusations of a fix ealier in the week, when their website advertised comeback kid Amelia Lily's single, but they put this down to a "technical error".

Whoever ends up on the official song will have a fresh battle on their hands for the coveted Christmas number one spot, with the popular Military Wives releasing their song on the 19th. But, by now, the X Factor contestants are all used to fighting it out to the end.
