24 Hour Long Photography Competition Comes To An End

24 Hour Photography Challenge Finds A Winner

A 24 hour long photography competition gave anyone with a camera phone and some imagination the chance to shine over the weekend.

24LIVE, organised by online photo company PhotoBox, set photographers a new challenge every hour on the hour between Friday and Saturday, inviting people to interpret words and phrases such as 'Food Glorious Food' and 'Nostalgia' with a quick photograph.

The competition received over 7000 entries across the 24 hours, with 400 people completing a whole working day's worth of challenges (8 hours) and 45 people, incredibly, completing the full 24 hours.

One such participant was Andrew Abrahamson from Liverpool who won the 'Colour Mix Up' task, who completed all 24 hours while camped out in a Turkish internet café.

"This competition is very different, especially the live aspect: not just picking portfolio images but focused creativity," he said.

The overall winner of £3,000 was Dianne Sellars Craswell who took on Challenge 12: 'Who Is Behind The Lens' with a rather clever self-portrait . Judge Paul Sanders said: "This is a great shot - and really works as a conceptual interpretation of the brief."

You can see Dianne's shot - and all 24 winning photos - in the gallery below.
