Arctic Monkeys Singer Alex Turner Has Forgotten How To Write A Hit

Are Arctic Monkeys Over?

Rocker Alex Turner is worried the Arctic Monkeys may never achieve another hit single as the charts have become "a different landscape" since they released their debut track I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.

The group's first single shot to the top of the charts when it was released in 2005 and they followed it up with a slew of popular tunes.

However, their latest album Suck It and See limped into the charts at number 149, and Turner admits the band's days of number one singles may be over.

He says: "I have f**king forgotten how to do that (write a hit). I don't know what that is any more, it's a different landscape these days."

Songwriter Turner also reveals he is now working on improving his voice, adding: "I was never a singer. I have had to practice at that and writing melodies is something that didn't come naturally. I was more comfortable writing lyrics.

"I am still working on it but I think we are getting there with the singing thing."
