Queens Park Rangers captain and Twitter feud fanatic Joey Barton refused leave from a football game to attend the birth of his first child due to his hatred of hospitals.
Joey's model girlfriend Georgia McNeil checked into hospital on Boxing Day after she went into labour and contractions began that evening.
Joey made the decision not to attend the birth after travelling to Wales for a Premier League match with Swansea City as he "hates hospitals".
The source told the Daily Star: "He doesn't like hospitals but wanted to be close by."
However, the footballer soon fell straight in love with the lad, tweeting his love for him as he posted a picture and announced his name as Cassius.
"The minute I saw him, I instantly knew I'd love him for the rest of his life! That's the closest, I can get to describing this moment......." he wrote on Twitter.
The footballer, who is no stranger to controversy, rose to notoriety after slating a number of celebrities and politicians on Twitter and gained almost a million followers.
The sports star called the entire cast of TOWIE "mentally deficient" and has been arrested on a number of violent charges including stubbing out a cigarette on a team mate's eye.
