Beyonce is due to give birth to her first child today, according to reports riccocheting around New York.
Nurses at New York's St Luke's Roosevelt hospital are said to have been told to prepare for a celebrity VIP, with half the floor of the hospital's Labor and Delivery Suite booked.
The 30-year-old singer announced her pregnancy and revealed her baby bump at the MTV Music Awards in August but she and husband Jay-Z have been coy about their baby's exact due date, at one stage saying the baby was due in February then implying it was due in December.
In October the singer sparked rumours that she was wearing a prosthetic belly after her stomach appeared to collapse as she sat down during a live TV appearance in Australia.
Beyoncé is thought to have reached nine months in her pregnancy: in a clip from her Live at Roseland DVD she said: 'Hello! It's September 23rd ... Right now I'm actually shooting the video for 'Countdown' and I'm six months pregnant, pretending that my stomach is flat in body suits.'
