Sinead O'Connor Reveals Honeymoon Hell - 'Marriage Was Like Living In A Coffin'

O'Connor: 'Marriage Was Like Living In A Coffin'

Sinead O'Connor has told how her search for drugs on her wedding night left her new husband "very frightened" and led to the breakdown of their short marriage.

The Irish singer reveals she scared Barry Herridge off when she was handed "a load of crack" as she tried to track down marijuana just hours after they exchanged vows in a drive-through Las Vegas wedding on 8 December.

She explains, "We ended up in a cab in some place that was quite dangerous. I wasn't scared but he's a drug counsellor. What was I thinking?

"Then I was handed a load of crack. Barry was very frightened - that kind of messed everything up a bit really."

O'Connor eventually called off their relationship on Christmas Eve and now she has ruled out ever trying to find love again.

She adds, "I don't think I will even date anyone... It felt like I was living in a coffin. It was going to be a coffin for both of us and I saw him crushed. The whole reason I ended it was out of respect and love for the man."

O'Connor was previously married to music producer John Reynolds and journalist Nicholas Sommerlad. She has four children from previous relationships.
