While most celebs choose rather, er, exotic names for their newborns, Lily Allen has chosen a good-old fashioned moniker for her baby girl: Ethel Mary.
It makes a nice change from naming a child after a fruit or an animal.
The singer, and her building boss husband Sam Cooper, have kept out of the limelight since singer Lily gave birth in November.
But Lily's mum, film producer Alison Owen, revealed her granddaughter's name to a friend on Facebook over Christmas.
The last 'famous' person with that name was Albert Square favourite Dot Cotton's best pal in the soap, Ethel May Skinner. And last year, only three babies in Britain were given the name.
The only other famous Ethel we can think of is Hollywood actress and singer Ethel Merman – best known for the song "There's No Business Like Show Business" – who died in 1984.
