'Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close' - Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock (EXCLUSIVE CLIP)

Extremely Big Stars Lend Power To 9/11 Story (Exclusive Clip)

There's a lot of Oscar-winning wattage in this story of a young boy's journey from grief for the events of September 11, to revelation at the doors of other people's lives and stories in this big-budget adaptation of the novel Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

The film stars Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, with Oscar-nominated support from Max Von Sydow, and direction by Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours). Despite little critical buzz, it has taken its place in the Oscar nominations list for Best Film.

It will be in UK cinemas on 17th February, but in the meantime, here's an exclusive clip above.

Here's the blurb:

Eleven-year-old Oskar Schell is an exceptional child: amateur inventor, Francophile, pacifist. And after finding a mysterious key that belonged to his father, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11, he embarks on an exceptional journey—an urgent, secret search through the five boroughs of New York. As Oskar roams the city, he encounters a motley assortment of humanity, who are all survivors in their own ways. Ultimately, Oskar’s journey ends where it began, but with the solace of that most human experience: love.
