EastEnders' Tanya and Max are to face Zainab and Masood as both try to be crowned best couple in the All About Soap awards.
The screen duos - played by Jo Joyner, Jake Wood, Nina Wadia and Nitin Ganatra respectively - are joined by rivals Coronation Street's Peter (Chris Gascoyne) and Carla (Alison King), and Home And Away's Brax (Steve Peacocke) and Charlie (Esther Anderson) in the same category.
The BBC soap has topped the nominations for this year's awards, picking up nine nods across eight categories, while Coronation Street and Hollyoaks follow closely behind with seven nominations each.
Emmerdale has received six nods, with Home And Away scoring two and Neighbours one in the awards, to be determined by public votes.
Peter and Jake will also face each other in the best actor field, alongside Emmerdale's Danny Miller (Aaron Livesy) and Hollyoaks' Emmett Scanlan (Brendan Brady), while Alison and Jo compete for best actress with the Dales' Chelsea Halfpenny (Amy Wyatt) and Claire Cooper from Hollyoaks (Jacqui McQueen).
Emmerdale's Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Coronation Street's Frank Foster (Andrew Lancel), EastEnders' Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) and Hollyoaks' Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) are all up for best villain.
Steve and Tracy's ill-fated Weatherfield wedding, Pat's funeral in Walford, Cain's attack in Emmerdale and the Halloween murder in Hollyoaks have been recognised in the best episode category.
Voting on the All About Soap awards opens on February 14 on www.allaboutsoap.co.uk and in the magazine, and closes on February 27.
