WHO? Alexander Wang
IN A NUTSHELL: From the huge smoke-filled concrete space to the relentless and mesmerising techno soundtrack and the eerie maze of mirrors, this was Alexander Wang at his most gritty, industrial and (dare we say) terrifying... Even the fabrics sounded disconcerting, with the show notes referencing 'peroxide' and 'oxblood' coloured lacquered merino, wax suede, vinyl, and magnified wool.

BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: The leather skirt; slouchy but structured with buckles and a split right down the front. We love. The lacquered wools created tactile, mind boggling textures that work perfectly on loose sweaters, and the oversized black shearling duffle is just the thing for trudging in the NY snow. Also, funnel necks in every imaginable form ruled, preferably topped off with a vinyl visor.
F-ROW: Anna Wintour flanked by two burly body guards didn't manage to take attention away from stellar cast of models on the runway at the finale; Gisele, Shalom Harlow and Karolina Kurkova.
VERDICT: Take away the smoke and mirrors (literally), and the fancy supermodels and what are you left with? Cool-girl separates perfect for Wang's downtown fan base. It was all just a little bit more sophisticated than his previous collection - proving perhaps that Wang, and his audience, are growing up but not getting old.
