Manchester City Manager Roberto Mancini Continues To Break Out The Fruit Pastilles

What Is It With Mancini And Fruit Pastilles?

During Saturday night's stroll against Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini could again be seen chewing on his favourite English culinary discovery, Fruit Pastilles.

It's an alternative mode of gnawing away at tension, with most managers preferring chewing gum on the touchline. The Old Trafford dugout has had to undergo extensive cleaning to remove the quantity of gum left behind by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Mancini has been spotted clutching a tube of the British sweets on numerous occasions this season, and a club source confirmed to The Sun: "He always has a stash in his pockets."

City's football development executive was buzzing after the blues' weekend win:

"Roberto loves to break them out when concentrating from the bench. It's as well he cycles the ten miles into training most days to burn off the calories."

No sugar rush was needed to alleviate the tension as City vanquished Blackburn Rovers 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. The visitors only managed one shot on target in a win that was easy as taking candy from a baby.
