We asked Butters, the adorable Pomeranian belonging to fashion super blogger Kristin Knox, to give her canine perspective on New York Fashion Week. This is what fashion's first dog told us...
If you Londoners have been wondering where the chicest canine circulating on the fashion scene has gone off lately, the answer is... back home to the Big Apple!
Whilst Mommy spent the weeks in the wake of Christmas traipsing about god knows where, I've been kicking it with my number one gran in New York's East Village, the same neighbourhood in which I was born (however many dog years ago...) That's right, the fashion dog hit New York Fashion Week by storm.
So here's a little round up of my favourite shows (none from Lincoln Center, where, alas, furry fashion friends are BARRED from attending, even in Louis Vuitton bags, how rude!) DKNY I quite enjoyed, the looks were pretty much all black, so I had to quell the urge to leap out of my bag and onto the runway so I could roll all over the models and accessorise those simple outfits with this season's must-have-accent, pommy fur all over the place (lint rollers= so last season.)
At 3.1 Phillip Lim, I could hardly see anything because of our fourth row seat, and barely breathe due to the smoke machine, but I liked the clean looks and of course the street style fest outside the Highline Stage venue.
After popping backstage at Ohne Titel and stealing the models' thunder and charming the Mac right out of the makeup artists, I had a front row seat at Preen, but Mommy didn't, so I did the nice thing and went and sat on her lap in the second row - after a healthy dose of f-row papping, of course. Alice + Olivia was great fun, a presentation in the evening complete with cakes, champagne and an appearance from Grandma (GRANDMA!!!!!) and my Aunty Denni who writes the Chic Muse blog.
