Actress Zooey Deschanel "slipped" into a lacy dress (Geddit? Because the dress is like a slip? Comedy gold.) to attend the Alliance For Children's Rights annual dinner at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday night.

It's a pretty basic look but we thought we'd give it a shout out because the New Girl star is usually all BLUNT FRINGE and BIG EYES but here, with the slightly dishevelled fringe area and the heavier makeup on her lower lids, it feels like we're actually able to look at the whole outfit without just zeroing in on the fringe 'n' eyes.
