Fabrice Muamba greeted Bolton's club doctor when he visited him last night and said he was feeling "fine".
Dr Jonathan Tobin, said that early signs of Muamba’s recovery “have continued”, and the footballer had asked him “what has happened?” when he visited him last night.
"Early signs of recovery have continued," said Dr Tobin. "I went in and he said 'Hi, doc.' I asked him how he was and he said 'Fine'."
Muamba's condition has significantly improved the last few days, and he is now communicating with visitors in French and English.
Bolton meanwhile will resume their fixture schedule and face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, after Fabrice Muamba's collapse.
The Trotters had their Tuesday night match against Aston Villa postponed after Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
However manager Owen Coyle revealed Muamba's friends and family urged him and his side to fulfil their football commitments.
"Fabrice's father Marcel and his fiancee Shauna were keen that we fulfil our fixtures," the Scot said.
Bolton will also continue to participate in the FA Cup, after they mulled over withdrawing from the competition.
Their away match at Spurs, which was abandoned with the score at 1-1 Saturday evening, will be rearranged at a later date.
