It's very rare that we get to see the Pope experimenting with accessories - mostly the papacy tends to take a "si fractum non sit, noli id reficere" line on hats (a plain white zucchetto will suffice for most occasions), shoes (red leather for trips outdoors) and jewellery (a statement gold pectoral cross which would have inspired jealous glances from Elizabeth Taylor). BUT Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Mexico saw the pontiff busting out an eye-catching embellished sombrero:

His Holiness's rare foray into the world of adventurous headgear came as he made his way (in the Pope-mobile, obv) to Guanajuato's Bicentenary Park to deliver a homily as part of his Apostolic journey to Mexico and the Republic of Cuba.
